Explore the unexplored
Offbeat roads, remote villages and raw mountains: no crowded tourist spots, no ordinary road trips.
Our story
The BagPack Tribe is a community for adventure seekers: people who'd rather take the long way round, and do it together.
How it started
The BagPack Tribe was founded by Tushar, a traveller who has explored 30+ countries and has been driving the high roads of Ladakh and Spiti since 2014.
Years of leading expeditions through the Himalaya turned into a simple idea: open up these roads to anyone with a sense of adventure, with the planning, safety and support the mountains demand.
Today the tribe runs SUV convoys and self-drive expeditions through Spiti, Ladakh and Zanskar, with Nepal, Bhutan and Kyrgyzstan on the way. Same roads. Different you.

What we believe
Offbeat roads, remote villages and raw mountains: no crowded tourist spots, no ordinary road trips.
Small batches of like-minded travellers. Arrive as strangers, leave as a tribe.
Backup and recovery support, experienced leaders, oxygen on hand and a women-prioritised, safe environment.
Connect. Reflect. Evolve. The best adventures are about what you experience along the way.
The founder
Tushar has explored 30+ countries, but the Himalaya keeps pulling him back.
He has been driving to Ladakh and Spiti since 2014, in summer and in deep winter snow, and has led many expeditions across some of the toughest roads in India. He is trained in advanced first aid, and on the road he leads from the front: setting the pace, briefing the convoy and making sure everyone gets home with stories to tell.
Pick an expedition, or tell us where you want to go. We'll take it from there.
